Taufiq Adiyanto is an Assistant Professor of Tax Law at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia, and a PhD candidate in Tax Law at Leiden University, the Netherlands. His research interests include tax law, trade and customs law, and energy law. He has conducted research and policy work with a wide range of partners, including government agencies, private sector actors, and universities in Indonesia and internationally. His work has been published in books, book chapters, academic journals, policy papers, and op-ed articles. He has also spoken at seminars, delivered guest lectures, provided legal consultations, and presented at international conferences.
He is affiliated with several research centres at UGM, including the Center for World Trade Studies (PSPD), the Center for Energy Studies (PSE), and the Indonesian Center for Tax Law (ICTL). Before joining UGM, he practised law and is licensed as an advocate (PERADI) and as tax counsel before the Indonesian Tax Court. He holds an LL.B. (S.H.) from Universitas Gadjah Mada and an Adv. LL.M. in International Civil and Commercial Law from Leiden University. He is a member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA), the Australasian Tax Teachers Association (ATTA), the Indonesian Bar Association (PERADI), and the Society of International Economic Law (SIEL).
