I am Milda Longgeita Pinem, an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Development and Welfare at Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. My academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Social Development and Welfare and a Master’s in Political Science from Universitas Gadjah Mada. These studies shaped my interest in understanding and addressing societal challenges through empowerment.
To broaden my perspective, I pursued a Ph.D. in Gender Studies at the University of Hull, England. This experience deepened my understanding of feminist theories and their relevance in addressing issues of empowerment within various social contexts. It also strengthened my commitment to using feminist thought as a tool for exploring social change and transformation. My research focuses on the intersections of feminism, gender, spirituality, and empowerment. I am particularly drawn to examining how these areas intersect and influence processes of social transformation and personal growth.
