Abstrak/Abstract Recent research has recognised transportation as one of the aspect that has a significant effect on social inclusion that could relate to sustainable development. This prompted the emergence of the concept of transport disadvantage. One of the groups potentially experiencing transport disadvantage is the low income people.Limitedchoiceduetolimitedresourcescanleadtodifficultyinaccessingvariousopportunities, especially if they also live in a location that is also categorized as a transport disadvantaged area. Yogyakarta Urbanised Area (KPY orKawasan Perkotaan Yogyakarta) as the fast growing area,is more likely to have problemsrelatedtotransportdisadvantage.Theconcentrationoflowincomepeople,withuneven distributionoffacilitiesandtransportationservicescouldleadtothehighownershipofprivatevehicles, especially motorcycles that is more affordable than a car. Therefore, the purposes of this paper are: 1) To identify the distribution of low-income people as one of the transport disadvantaged groups resides in KPY ; 2)ToidentifyareasinKPYthatcanbecategorizedastransportdisadvantagedarea;3)Toidentifythe magnitude and distribution of transport disadvantaged groups who live in thetransport disadvantaged areas asinputfortransportpolicy.Toachievetheseobjectives,themethodusedinthisstudyisdescriptive statistical analysis and spatial mapping with the help of GIS software. Conclusion of this study is that low income people are widely spread in the suburb which is also transport disadvantaged areas.
