Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is one of the most common non-communicable diseases. The prevalence of DM patients is increasing rapidly. In addition, there is stigma related to DM. The healthcare providers should have a good level of knowledge on DM. This study was aimed to describe the knowledge regarding DM among health professions students at the University X. This descriptive study was conducted in September 2022. A total 102 health profession students were participated in this study by fulfilling the Diabetes Knowledge Questionnaire 24 (DKQ-24) through google form. The result showed that most of respondents were female (68,6%), had normal body mass index (60%), had recognized their family DM history (95,1%) and usually obtained health information through socialmedia, health journal, and website. Respondents were had a diverse knowledge level of DM and 29,41% of them have poor knowledge of DM. In addition, there were several aspects of the knowledge regarding DM that need to be improve, ie. The causes, symptoms and DM management. Nevertheless, the health profession students of the University X potentially to become healthy role model as the intervention of DM prevention and control. |
