Abstrak/Abstract Fort Rotterdam Area is a building which is historical and culture heritage. The first observation to discover the perception of local tourism has been conducted. The observation revealed that, many of tourist are more interested to visit because of the commercial event than the cultural and historical tourism activities it self. This commercial event believed to ruin the Fort Rotterdam pride as historical and cultural tourism destination This research has been conducted to measure an illustration about the product quality of Fort Rotterdam and the tourist perception about the product quality itself. Mix method was used to this research. Mix method is combination between quantitative and qualitative method. The quantitative method comprises distributing questionnaires and direct interview with the tourists. The qualitative method conducted by observation of Fort Rotterdam condition and clarify it with the result of questionnaires. The research area is in Makassar, South Sulawesi. The perception of tourist quality product is refer to the tourist component and eight quality dimensions by Garvin. Based on the result of research dominantly the tourists have “equivalent” percentage between good perception and not good perception about the product quality of Fort Rotterdam. The perception of tourist quality product for performance have good perception. The perception of tourist quality product for features have not good perception. As for the perception of tourist quality product for reliability, serviceability, conformance, durability, and perceived quality have equivalent perception between good perception and not good perception. Then perception of tourist quality product for aesthetics have good perception
