Purpose: Assessing quality of life among cardiovascular patients is crucial. The purpose was to examine psychometric properties of the Indonesian version of medical outcome survey short-form 12 version 2 (SF12v2).
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in three primary healthcare units. The validity test included face, content, discriminant, and construct validity while internal consistency was used as reliability indicator.
Results: Content validity index were 0.83-0.97. The equivalence, clarity, and readability outcomes achieved > 90%. The physical and mental subscales had substantial correlation, supporting discriminant validity. The Bartlett’s test was significant (KMO = 0.74). The principal component analysis resulted in eight components, explaining 88.4% of variance. Alpha coefficients for subscales were 0.58-0.81 whereas physical and mental component summaries were 0.77 and 0.67, respectively.
Conclusions: The Indonesian version of SF12v2 indicated a reliable and valid instrument. Implication for Practice: Availability of SF12v2 in Indonesian is accessible for cross-cultural studies on cardiovascular patients.
