Indonesia is a country located among active tectonic plates. Natural disasters often occur in Indonesia, one of which is an
earthquake. Indonesia have experienced 143 earthquakes since 2009 - 2018. The impact caused by the earthquake is
detrimental to human life, one of which is losing shelter. Victims of earthquake need basic assistance in the form of shelter. The
government pays attention to one of the basic assistance besides food that is the government provides temporary shelter as
assistance in the transition phase in the emergency response. Assistance in the form of temporary shelters has been widely
carried out in Indonesia and many have innovated temporary shelters in terms of practicality that is in term of packaging and
fast unloading. Noticing the temporary shelter innovation, the researchers want to examine the effective value of OTTV energy
(overall thermal transfer value), the differences in room temperature, and thermal comfort in the existing temporary shelters.
OTTV values and thermal comfort are adapted to Indonesia's humid tropical climate which has a temperature ranged of 24°C
- 30°C and 75% air humidity. Temporary shelter will be simulated with rhinoceros and grasshopper software. In grasshopper,
a ladybug and honeybee are needed as plugins that run OTTV energy, the room temperature differences and thermal comfort
are determined by researchers. The simulation will be carried out in two stages, the first stage will simulate the temporary
shelter materials and the second stage will be simulated according to a predetermined standard. The simulation results will
be analyzed by comparing the results of the first stage simulation with the second stage. Styrofoam-based materials have a
temperature range of 27.9°C - 29.79°C and can be functioned as a scoping wall or insulation in temporary shelters |
