The Banjir Kanal Barat (BKB) normalization project was conducted in 2009 - 2013 to restore its function as a flood control channel as well as a tourist destination. However, after it was built, the goal as a tourist destination was not achieved which can be seen from the number of visit. This is because the built are does not accommodate the needs of the visitors. Based on the phenomenon, it is necessary to conduct research to know the livability of BKB public open space. Livability levels are measured by objective assessment and subjective assessment of BKB visitors. This study involves visitors to answer questionnaires that have been prepared based on related theories.
The results of data analysis showed that there were twelve (12) indicators of livability, namely (1) ease of physical access, (2) ease of visual access, (3) ease of reach with various modes of transportation, (4) parking, (5) active-passive activity (6) activities related to water, (7) lighting, (8) shade, (9) seating, (10) signage, (11) view, and (12) convenience of social interaction. These indicators were then prioritized for improvement so that the livability quality of public open space of Banjir Kanal Barat can be improved. |
