The focus of this research is to investigate the structural behavior of post-tensioned Cross-
Laminated Timber (CLT) wall buildings against seismic forcesin Indonesia having Asrama Kinanthi UGM dormitory as the case of this study. The existing building was redesigned by replacing the wall and floor elements with E1 grade CLTand frame elements with E10 grade glulam. Evaluation of lateral force of the new redesign building was calculated using force based design methodand modificationof momentrotationprocedure based on Modified Monolithic Beam Analogy (MMBA)was used to design the post-tensioned CLT walls. The result shows that the inter-story drift of the redesign building fullfills the design standard (SNI 1726-2012) requirement. However, self-centering mechanism as normally expected when post-tensioning system is adapted, was not successfully developed. This due to increase of the lateral stiffness of the redesign building due to the provision of CLT panels as wall and floor elements. In comparison to reinforced concrete (RC) structure, it is shows that the post-tensioning timber wall structure leadsto alower foundation capacity requirement.
