Study of detailed geometry graben structure in the Sunda Strait using bathimetry, seismic reflection and seismicity data have been conducted to determine the characteristics of the southeastern segment of Sumatran Fault. Characters of the structure are observed in the seismic reflection profile and on the surface of the seafloor as vertical-dipping faults and lineaments of valley and ridges, respectively. Activity of the structures can also be observed from the earthquake distribution. The Semangko graben formed as two sub-basins separated by a northwest-southeast to north-south trending structure, Tabuan-Panaitan Ridge. This structural high is part of the main faults of the Sumatra Fault zone in the Sunda Strait, which is characterized by offset of sedimentary units offset that visible in the seismic profiles. Seismicity is observed along this structural high. Furthermore, this ridge appears to be influenced by magmatic activity along this structural weak zone.
