Land Information Infrastructure (LII) is an important node in the Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) used in facilitating access, exchange and sharing of Geospatial Data (GD) or Geospatial Information (GI) in the implementation of the Land Administration System (LAS). One of the important components of the LII is the standards available to support the interoperability of GD/GI within the institutions involved in the LAS both at the local and national levels. These standards should be adaptable to global needs and can facilitate the implementation of the LII that connects the stakeholders at various levels. Existing condition of standard GD/GI
used in existing LAS implementation in the above institutions has been identified. Similarly, the standard need of the GD/GI that supports interoperability of data in the organization of the IIP in general has also been identified. The research showed that the implementation of the LII in the region needs to adopt standards related to management of and access to GD/GI. The standards should be capable of adapting to the needs of GD on the national and global level. Accordingly, the national government needs to adopt some of the internationally recognized standard of GI, such as ISO, in such a way to satisfy the national needs. |
