Information about the species composition and structure of urban forest in Trenggalek, East Java, Indonesia is needed to achieve regency vision as an ecological conservation area, environmental learning, and family recreation. Data of species composition, mainly trees, and poles, were collected by systematic sampling with a random start. We made 30 nested plots in an area of 40 ha. The understory vegetations were obtained using transect plot with stratified systematic sampling on 10 ha of flora development zones. There were 4 zones and each zone as a sub-population. Analysis of Important Value Index (IVI) and Shannon-Wiener Diversity Index (H?) was carried out in 75 plots. The species composition of trees, poles, seedlings, and lower plants consisted of 56 species in 25 families. Based on IVI analysis, Enterolobium cyclocarpum, Swietenia macrophylla, Dalbergia latifolia, and Eupatorium odoratumdominate the tree, pole, seedling, and lower plants, respectively. The H? of diversity is in the medium category with the understory has the highest value (2.75). The structure of forest canopies as follows trees in stratum B and C, pole in stratum C, while seedlings and understorey in stratum D and E |
