Abstrak/Abstract
A series of some 2-arylbenzimidazole derivatives have been synthesized from substituted aryl aldehyde and o-phenylenediamine using microwave radiation and tested for its antimalarial activity. The 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1H-benzimidazole showed excellent in vitro antimalarial activity toward Plasmodium falciparum (3D7) strain. Molecular docking studies have supported in vitro antimalarial assay. This compound also showed good bioavailability and druglike properties.
