Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) is a communication system that employs multiple antennas both on the transmitter and receiver. The intelligent multielement transmit and receive antennas (I-METRA) channel model is a channel modeling method that focuses on forming spatial correlations in MIMO communication systems. The channel modeling using the I-METRA method in this study aims to determine the characteristics of the MIMO channel with the parameters that have been introduced by 3GPP and IEEE 802.11. The propagation environment model that is considered in this paper is the C (macrocell) case. The channel modeling process is performed by using MATLAB software. The results of this research are the 2 x 2 MIMO channel characteristic models which are represented by the channel impulse responses, power delay profile (PDP), spatial correlation and
cummulative distribution function (CDF).
