Indonesia's Government policy has impacts on generation expansion planning (GEP). Based on the policies, it can be known that to handle the impact of the policies implementation, a GEP optimization model by considering multi-objective function, GEP constraints, and demand side management (DSM) is needed. Therefore, a GEP review is needed especially on objective functions, constraints, and DSM. Based on the review, it can be concluded whether the current optimization method is sufficient to handle the problem or not and determined the potential models that can be used. This research conducted a GEP review with several topics such as objective functions, constraints, and DSM. The purpose of this research is to determine whether the optimization methods that have been used today are sufficient or not to solve the government policies problems and determine the GEP optimization models that can be used to overcome the problems. It is expected that with the right model, the optimum GEP results will be obtained to minimize the GEP errors. The review results showed that the problems can be solved by using a combination of mature models. The models are combination of multi-objective function, technical and policy constraint, and DSM models. |
