The monitoring result at 25 referral hospitals for HIV/AIDS patients is still
found obstacles in the antiretroviral (ARV) using. The aims of this study are to know
the pattern of antiretroviral using according to the characteristic of HIV/AIDS patients
and to evaluate the rational therapy based on the National Guidance of Antiretroviral
Therapy from Departemen Kesehatan Republic of Indonesia in 2004.
Non-experimental study with descriptive evaluative analytical approach was
used as design of this study. Data was collected retrospectively from 32 HIV/AIDS
patients as sample of the study. The inclusion criteria are complete identity in medical
record to get information about theirs characteristic, HIV/AIDS diagnose and
antiretroviral therapy during inpatients care in a hospital in Yogyakarta for the period
2004-2005.
The characteristic of patients shows the comparison between male and female
patients in ratio 31:1, most of them are 20-29 years old (65,6%). It also shows the
highest risk of the Injecting Drug User (IDU) group (65,6%). The study found that the
first choice regimen which is applied most often is combination of
zidovudine+lamivudine+nevirapine (50%). All patient get precisely dosage of ARV
according to the recommendation of Depkes R.I (2004), but there is various frequency
once daily in use efavirenz and twice daily in ARV besides efavirenz. The rational
therapy analysis found that 100% of 13 patients get precisely indication, 65,6% of 32
patients get precisely drug of choice, 62,5% of 32 patients get precisely dosage, and
80% of 10 patients get precisely monitoring. |
