Abstrak/Abstract Measurement of quality of life of HIV/AIDS patients as an ARV therapy outcome is now an essential due to complexity of the regimen and long life therapy. HIV-positive status can affect quality of life in HIV/AIDS patients. The aim of this study is to investigate the quality of life profile of HIV/AIDS outpatients in a hospital in Yogyakarta including physical health, psychological, social relationship, and environmental domains. This study is also to understand quality of life profile according to characteristics of HIV/AIDS patients. Non-experimental study with descriptive explorative analytical approach was used as design of this study. Thirty six HIV/AIDS patients were recruited purposively as samples of the study. The data were collected by using questionnaire of WHO quality of Life–BREF version and respondents’ medical records to get information about their characteristics. The study found that the majority of subjects perceived their level of quality of life was in normal range (63.9%), whereas perceived general health was ranged between unsatisfied and normal (88.9%). The highest score of quality of life in this study was in environmental domain (46.81), followed by physical health (43.94), psychological (43.75), and social relationship domain (42.86). There was a difference among quality of life scores according to characteristic of HIV/AIDS patients.
