Abstrak/Abstract |
The objective of this study is to evaluate the prospects for developing special interest tourism initiatives in the vicinity of Terbah Village, Patuk District, Gunungkidul Regency, with a particular focus on the Nglanggeran Ancient Volcano Geosite. The research employs a descriptive quantitative methodology, utilizing survey techniques and observational methods. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires administered to respondents. The analytical process involved the calculation of sub-variable aspects, value compilation, mean computation, and percentage determination. The evaluation encompassed several key aspects: a) potential tourism attractions, b) development of special interest tourism potential, and c) local community perceptions regarding the development of special interest cave tourism.
The research findings, based on responses from 15 participants comprising local residents and students from the 2024 University of Gadjah Mada Community Service Program (period 1), indicate that a plurality (46.7%) assessed the potential for special interest tourist attractions as high. The majority of special interest tourism attraction aspects were similarly categorized as high. The tourism potential development aspect received the highest categorization (53.3%), while the community perception aspect was predominantly categorized as low (40.0%).
These results suggest that the majority of assessed aspects pertaining to attraction potential and development are highly favorable for the nascent Nglanggeran Ancient Volcano Geosite initiative in Terbah Village, Gunungkidul Regency.
