It is mandatory for educational institutions in Indonesia, that they have to evaluate or revision of
their curriculum. The curriculum is a tool to implement and achieve the goals of education. It
has been developed with attention to the development paradigm and national education
standards, in order to address the challenges faced in professional duties. The evaluation or
revision has to be conducted based on the internal evaluation and external feedback evaluation.
Internal evaluation can be gained during implementation and small evaluation could be done in
each every semester. External evaluation should be conducted at least in every fifth year of
implementation. The content of nuclear engineering curriculum at Universitas Gadjah Mada
(UGM) has been strengthened already with safety and safeguard subjects, but not with security
related aspects yet. Department of Engineering Physics at UGM has already decided to enhance
the next revised curriculum with strengthened three integrated aspects, namely safety, security
and safeguard. In the preliminary phase, several courses have been identified, that safety,
security and safeguard topics should be involved. Actually many efforts for preparation of
revision have been already done to develop concept for enhancing the course contents with
nuclear security subjects. The concept of preliminary revision has been developed base on
enhancement of course content, revision of syllabus, mapping of course content and course
objectives. Several model of course content enhancement have been already trialed. The results
show, that basic knowledge of students on nuclear security has been improved and we need well
further understanding of educators with nuclear security framework for regularly updated
syllabus with actual new security issues.
