Keeping ornamental chicken is one of Indonesian's hobby as mind refreshment or as earning. One of the
most unique and most exciting chicken is crested chicken which is characterized by the feather on it's cranium
that covers the eyes. However, this ornamental chicken generally has the disadvantage of low durability against
disease. Ayam Kampung (domestic chicken) is one of Indonesian native chicken which has high resistance to
diseases. Combining the uniqueness of crested chicken and disease resistance of domestic chicken can be
realized by backcrossing (BC). This study was conducted by crossing female crested F chicken derived from 1
crossing between crested chicken and domestic chicken with male crested chicken. The aims of this study are to
learn the inheritance pattern of crest and the weight gaining of the BC chicks on the 7th week. The chicks produced
from this crossing were observed on the crest phenotype and weight gain for 7 weeks and the crest phenotype
variations were analyzed using chi square test. This study showed that there are 5 different phenotype classes
from 16 BC chicks which lead to polygene with 2 roling genes. This result has been proved match the pattern
