Background: In order to assist medical schools to identify
their strengths and weaknesses, the National Committee
for Indonesian Medical Doctor Competency Examination
has provided annual feedback for each medical school.
Among various aspects included in this feedback is the
performance of medical schools based on the
accreditation status.
Summary of work: Two annual feedbacks have been
produced. The first annual feedback involved 65 medical
schools based on 4 examination periods (August and
November 2014, February and May 2015); while the second
annual feedback involved 71 medical schools based on 4
examination periods (February, May, August and
November 2016).
Summary of results: There are 3 accreditation status, A, B,
and C, whereas the A is the highest status. In the first
annual feedback there were 14, 32,19 medical schools with
A, B, C accreditation respectively. In the second annual
feedback there were 19,30,22 medical schools with A, B, C
accreditation status respectively.
Discussion: In the first annual feedback, medical schools
with A accreditation perform better in MCQs and OSCE
than medical schools with B and C accreditations (mean
score and pass percentage). Medical schools with B
accreditation perform better than those with C
accreditation. These findings are similar in the second
annual feedback.
Conclusion: Generally, the performances of medical
schools in national examination are in line with their
accreditation status. |
