The batik painting process on small business or home industry in Kecamatan Lendah Kabupaten Kulon Progro is done through several stages. One of the process is painting. It needs o be done repeatedly to get a clear and contrast pattern. The process requires a continuous heating of wax (malam). Hot pan heated by furnace is used to keep the wax hot. Traditional furnace (anglo) which uses wood charcoal or kerosene is still used. LPG furnace has even been used to heat the wax. However, the heat generated from that furnaces is not stable, so that the quality of batik painting become lower
The Community Service Team of Vocational School UGM Designed the procurement of electric furnaces with 150 – 300 Watts power. It is expected that the procurement of electric furnaces increase the productivity of small business or home industry in Kecamatan Lendah Kabupaten Kulon Progo.
The Community Service Team of Vocational School UGM has completed the procurement activities of the furnace heated by electric power sourced. The electric furnace have been distributed to some small businesses and home industries in Kecamatan Lendah Kabupaten Kulon Progo. The utilization of electric heating furnace is expected to increase productivity.
