Balikpapan is one of the cities in East Kalimantan Province that is prone to natural disasters that cause damage and loss to the community. It takes disaster mitigation efforts to reduce the impact that occurs by creating a multi-disaster risk map with ArcMap 10.3 software. Parameters for flood susceptibility maps are Topographic Wetness Index (TWI), permeability index, roughness index and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). The landslide susceptibility map is determined by slope, geology formation, elevation, distance from the river, land use, and rainfall intensity. The susceptibility map of forest and land fires is determined by rainfall intensity, forest type and coal seam availability. Disaster vulnerability is determined by economic, social, environmental and physical vulnerabilities. Capacity is determined by the availability of disaster-prone villages and early warning tools. Risk analysis is performed by an analysis of overlapping between susceptibility, vulnerability, and capacity maps. Based on the analysis of multi disaster risk analysis is divided into 3 (three) classes which are: low risk (43.97%), medium risk (39.71%) and high risk (16.32%). Multi-disaster risk zonation information
in Balikpapan is expected to be an input for Balikpapan City Government in disaster mitigation efforts. |
