Social media plays an important role in people's lives, including in spreading information to local communities. The Community Information Group (KIM) in Beji Village, Gunungkidul, functions to manage and distribute important information to the local population, aiming to increase community participation in village development. However, the community's understanding of KIM is still limited, including its tasks and functions. To optimize the role of KIM, the UGM KKN-PPM Period I/2024 team from the Beji Village Sub-Unit carried out an intervention through the creation of social media accounts for each hamlet and socialization on social media management. This study uses a qualitative approach with observation and interviews to measure the effectiveness of the socialization and implementation of social media in KIM of Beji Village. This activity is expected to improve KIM members' understanding of their tasks, functions, and effective social media management strategies. With a better understanding of KIM, it is hoped that cultural information and village activities can be more easily accessed and disseminated, thereby increasing community participation in village programs.
