Abstrak/Abstract This research was conducted to observe the characteristics of the fruiting bodies (basidiocarps) os Scleroderma and the ectomycorrhizal roots of Shorea leprosula Miq. infected bu Scleroderma. Basidiocarps of Scleroderma associated with S. leprosula Miq. collected from several dipterocarp plantation forests in Indonesia showed five different types in their morphology. Microscopic features of the fruiting bodies showed two layers of peridium and globose or nearly subglobose spores, with crowded, sharp-tipped, erect and curved spines. Roots of S. leprosula Miq. infected by Scleroderma showed specific organization of the mantle tissue as seen in plan view and the features of associated hyphae and strands.
