Organic carbon is often found as organic fraction which is relatively labile and stabile (known as "pool") which varies in susceptibility to decomposition. Labile fraction plays an important role in maintaining soil fertility that is as a source of plant nutrients because of the chemical composition of the original material and the level of rapid decomposition. The purpose of this study was to determine the status of the presence of labile soil carbon in Kecamatan Bayat, Klaten. This study was conducted in July 2017 until December 2017. Labile carbon studied were C-POM (Particulate Organic Matter Carbon), C-mineralized, C-water soluble, and C-BMT. Soil samples were rice fields, moor, and forests were taken in three villages in Kecamatan Bayat, Klaten which is Desa Dukuh, Beluk dan Banyuripan by using the zig-zag composite method at a soil depth of 0-20 cm. The results of this study is the management of rice fields contains a high c-labile because of the provision of sufficient organic material compared with the management of moor and forests. The content of C labile on forest management is low because forests lack nutrient input into the soil because the teak litter is a little so that the decomposition process becomes slow. |
