Abstrak/Abstract |
This study aims to elucidate the linguistic features used by gay individuals and the social factors
influencing them. Utilizing qualitative methods, data from the “Langit Entertainment” video titled
“Kita G4y Karena Trauma, Bukan Pilihan! Suatu Saat Kita Pengen Punya Keturunan!”. were
analyzed using Lakoff’s theory of women’s linguistic features. The findings reveal that four out of
five interviewed gay individuals maintain masculine linguistic features but adopt a rising
intonation akin to feminine speech. The study concludes that linguistic features are shaped by
social factors such as abuse, sexual experiences, or a feminine environment. These features are
not enforceable; for instance, despite using masculine features, the intonation resembled feminine
speech. This research is expected to contribute to the field of language and gender in the future. |
