Each room in a building has a certain function,
for example a lecture hall for learning and teaching activities.
Electrical devices in the campus building commonly will be used
in accordance with the schedule of room usage. In this paper, we
proposed an indoor electrical device control system, which is able
to adapt to the kinds of activities and the number of people. The
system consists of controller layer and automation layer.
Controller layer is software that is integrated with Google
Calendar and automation layer is related with hardware infrastructure
for controlling. Agendas stored in Google Calendar will
be a trigger for those controlled electrical devices. The developed
system was given with two kinds of tests, i.e., performance and
functionality test. The performance test was applied by measuring
the response time when turning the device on/off. The test
showed that the average response time needed to turn it on was
2,28 seconds and to turn it off was 2,32 seconds. The result from
functionality test showed the capability of the system to control
electrical devices in accordance with the kinds of activities and
the number of the occupants.
