Abstrak/Abstract Banana in Indonesia is mostly planted traditionally as smallholder farms with less than 0.5 h land in the backyard, garden, or field with several up to hundred clusters. However, there are also some banana industries with thousands hectares in Sumatra and Java. Panama disease of banana caused by Fusralum oxysporum 1.sp cubense (Foc) has been constraining the production since 1916 when the disease was reported at the first time found in Java. Banana in Indonesia is easily growing anywhere, such as banana clusters grown without any cultivation in the villages along the river banks, or at bushes and people do not taking care of them. This condition may keep the source of ease inoculum remains available in the field. The survival banana clusters in the endemic farms is that due to the application of good Panama disease management or there are any other conditions factoring the disease suppression. Management of Panama disease in Indonesia is varies according to the local wisdom of the farmer areas or the industry. However National Task Force for Banana Wit Disease Management was established by the Directorate of Horticultural Plant Protection at the Dept. of Agriculture of Indonesia during the pandemic period of panama disease of banana caused by Foc TR4. This review is discussing several aspects of the disease management of panama disease of banana in Indonesia both that have been done in smallholder farms and commercial plantations.
