Abstrak/Abstract Composite materials have been gaining engineers' attention in recent years due to better engineering properties than conventional materials. Composites are formed by reinforcement to carry the load and matrix to hold the reinforcement together. Glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) is one of the most common composite materials used and the wet handlayups manufacturing method is more preferable as it offers a low-investment process. Imperfection in the manufacturing process of GFRP filled with 5?tivated carbon are investigated experimentally and visually. Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer is a type of fiber-reinforced plastic or FRP, using glass for the fiber and resin for the polymer. In this paper, 5?tivated carbon is added to the GFRP. The manufacturing process of different fiber orientations in the GFRP has also been studied. This study used different processes to cut the GFRP. Fiber orientation studied in this paper is as follows, [0]4, [45]4, [90]4. The study concluded that there are three main imperfections in the manufacturing process of GFRP filled with activated carbon, which is burned fibers in the cutting process, exposed fibers, and an uneven amount offiller.
