Economic globalization (EG) has continued to increase in the previous four decades. However, many economists investigated EG, resulting in the debate on its impact in different areas, including agriculture. Based on this, we try to present a paper that aims to determine the impact of EG on agriculture in developing countries, especially Asia. There are various types of EG in Asian developing countries, including economic transformation policies; financial market liberalization; and bilateral, regional and international cooperation or agreement. As a result, several impacts on agriculture are related to quantity, quality, value-added, and product diversification; supply chains; farmers' income and welfare; trade; food security; labor; technology; and the environment. Thus, we developed several strategies to optimize the beneficial impact and minimize the negative impact of EG. |
