Abstrak/Abstract Hijab selfie is one of a variety interested selfie styles to study. Hijabed women often deal with the tension between religious norms and the desire to get attention and praise in cyberspace. This paper examines the production of hijabed women's discourse by the admin in a hijab selfie photo compilation account on Instagram. Using social semiotics from Theo van Leeuwen and the technology of the self concept from Michel Foucault this paper examines the upload of hijab selfie photos in @jilbab_chantik compilation account. This compilation account was chosen because it is an active account and has more than 39 thousand followers. Instagram is a space that offers a kind of freedom for hijabed women to do self representation through hijab selfie. However, when the selfie photo was handed over to the photo compilation admin account to be promoted, the freedom of self representation of the hijabed women had been lost. Admin compilation account has the role of managing poses, editing and having the authority to choosing photos that are considered suitable for promotion. The study of this photo compilation account shows that there are two discourses on women who wear hijab, namely the discourse on beautiful women and the discourse on sexy women. Followers confirmed both of represented discourses by likes and comments on photos uploaded in Instagram news feed.
