Background: Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease, fi ti didn't treat well it would cause several complication like diabetic ulcer. A number of diabetic ulcer and amputation cases in
diabetes mellitus are still high, either ni developed country or ni development country. This condition may be prevented fi patients do some preventing action to care their foot every day. Objective: To know about knowledge level of diabetic ulcer and foot care in Diabetes Mellitus type 2 patients at S U P Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta.
Method: This research was descriptive study with cross sectional design. The subject of this study was 97 patients of Diabetes Mellitus who wore oxamining their blood cugar in S U P D.r Sardjito, they were chosen by purposive sampling techniques. Knowledge level of diabetic ulcer and foot care ni this study was examined by questionnaire based on related theories. Data were analyzed by distribution of frequencies.
Results: 43% from diabetes patients had good knowledge about diabetic ulcer, 54.0% had good enough knowledge, 9.3% had lack of knowledge, and 2.1% had bad knowledge. Whereas knowledge levels of foot care ni diabetes mellitus' patients made results like this:
21.6% had good knowledge, 61.9% had good enough knowledge, 15.5% had lack of knowledge, and 1% had bad knowledge.
Conclusion: Knowledge level of diabetic ulcer ni diabetes patients was good enough with its
percentage 54.6% and knowledge level of foot care was also good enough with its percentage 61.9%.
