Background: Laparatomy is associated with high rates of postoperative complications. One method that can be used to minimize postoperative complications is implement an ERAS program. ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) is a protocol for perioperative care programs that aim to reduce postoperative complications, reduce stress, optimize the healing process, and shorten the length of stay. In the ERAS program early mobilization is an important key in postoperative care. Early mobilization after surgery is recommended to be carried out as soon as possible. However, in the reality many patients are still worried if the body is moved in certain position after surgery.
Objective: To know the implementation of early mobilization in the ERAS program in post-laparotomy patients in the Cendana Ward of RSUP Dr. Sardjito.
Method: This study is a descriptive quantitative study with cross sectional design. Sample of study was 20 respondents with total sampling techniques on October-December 2019. This study used an instrument of exercise activity after laparotomy surgery. Data analysis conducted was univariate analysis.
Result: The average time for patients to mobilize early after laparotomy was 8,65 hours after surgery. From 12 postoperative exercise activities, the majority of respondents conducted 8 activities. The presence of medical equipment, feeling weak, and the presence of surgical injuries are the reasons for patients not mobilizing early after surgery. Conclusion: Most of the patients after laparotomy in the Cendana Room of RSUP Dr. Sardjito conducted early mobilization after being given ERAS periopreative education. |
