ABSTRACT
This review is motivated by the development of the house which is the response of the changing needs of residents so that the quality of occupancy is maintained. However, the disruption of the balance of the three house subjects (inhabitant - architect - developer) creates their own fears in renovating the house. As a result, the concept of dwelling that can adjust the needs of residents’development in a period of time (lifecycle) dynamically, better known as Flexible Housing, is needed. This review was conducted to identify the research potential of this concept and how far this concept can be applied in Indonesia. The ‘Program Satu Juta Rumah' (One Million Houses Program) which is proclaimed by the government will be more maximum, because it focuses not only on the quantity, but also on the quality of the dwelling. The potential of the research can be identified with the reviews of research which have been conducted, as well as the corelation with the related theories. While its application in Indonesia can be analyzed by correlating the regulation with the implementation of the developer. The result of this review recommends to research the planing process of
the flexible housing’s scheme on housing type 36.
