Career options are currently experiencing increasing diversity and expansion. The diversity of
career options to make more and more types of careers and not just depend on the choice of
career remained. Career options are currently experiencing widespread development in the
realm that is not associated with the organization. Developing career choice is "self
employment" or can be termed independent career. Career choices are more and
moreindependent, either directly as a career choice since the beginning of the individual´s
career or after a career option within the organization. The decision to make a choice on an
independent careeris not easy, because the model's career, forcing individuals to bear all the
risks that exist and run independently of activity. Aspects of risk and independence are the
essence of the concept of entrepreneurship and self-confidence that is in the individual. The
question is how these two aspects are indeed profound influence on the choice of
selfemployment career? Based on the research that has been conducted on 102 students at the
college level findings indicate that there is a correlation between entrepreneurship and selfconfidence
with self- employment as indicated by the value of the correlation (R) of 0.730.
This indicates that self- employment career options related to entrepreneurship and selfconfidence
variable. The value of R indicates that the role of these two variables on the career
choice of self-employment by 53.3 %. This provides information that someone who chose a
careeras a Self Employment will be successful if it has the soul of entrepreneurship and have
the confidence or self-confidence. The role of the two variables on career choice selfemployment
relatively balanced. Based on the results in correlation with regression
techniques that get the coefficient of determination between self- confidence and selfemployment
was 50.9 % and between entrepreneurship with self- employment amounted to
49.1 %. The differences were not so convincing, so that the relative roles both equally strong.
