Abstrak/Abstract The investiga tion of talok frui ts (Mun tingia calabura L.) was shown the antioxidant activity of aqueous fraction of the e thanolic extract is rela tively low. Hyd rolysis trea tme nt has increa se d the antioxidant activity by re leasing the fla vonoid aglycone from glycoside f orm. This s tudy aims to de termine the effect of acid and alkaline hydroly sis, and hydrolysis time on the an tioxidant activity of aqueous fraction of calabura fruits e thano lic extract. The a ntioxidant ac tivity of acid h ydrolyz ed aqueous fractio ns in 1 and 3 h hydrolysis, respective ly 9.5 and 1.5 times more poten t than th e aqueous fraction , while the a lka line in 1 and 3 h hydro - lysis were 2.5 and 6.5 ti mes. Flavonoid aglycone liberated on acid hyd rolysis and alka line had differen t a nti - oxidant activity. The v alue of IC 50 by acid hydrol yzed aqueous f raction in 1h and 3 h hydro lysis of 20.55 and 97.88 ?g/ mL, while the a lka line in 1h and 3 h h ydrolysis of 66.64 and 25.53 ?g/mL. One hour acid hydrolysis had antioxidant ac tivity g reate r than 3h wh ereas in alkaline the grea test an tioxidant activity is shown in 3 h.
