Abstrak/Abstract Farmer households have a role as producers who at the same time in their lives also play a role as consumers. This study aims to (1) determine the consumption of organic rice at the farmer household level in Sawangan Sub-district, Magelang Regency; (2) determine the factors that influence the consumption of organic rice at the farmer household level in Sawangan Sub-district, Magelang Regency; and (3) determine the elasticity of demand for organic rice at the farmer household level in Sawangan Sub-district, Magelang Regency. The basic method of this research used a quantitative approach that is analytically descriptive. Sampling was determined by purposive sampling involving 40 farmer households in Sawangan Sub-district, Magelang Regency. Descriptive analysis was used to determine the consumption of organic rice at the farmer household level, while multiple linear regression was used to determine the factors affecting organic rice consumption at the farmer household level and the elasticity of demand for organic rice at the farmer household level. The results showed that (1) organic rice consumption of farmer households in Sawangan Sub-district was lower than rice consumption in Indonesia; (2) organic rice consumption at the farmer household level was positively influenced by farmer household income, the price of non-organic rice, and the number of farmer household members, and negatively influenced by the price of organic rice and the price of tempeh; and (3) the demand for organic rice was inelastic, non-organic rice was a substitute good, tempeh was a complementary good, and organic rice was a normal good.
