Abstrak/Abstract Recycling the battery's active metal, notably lithium, can help to reduce battery waste. A shredding mechanism can be used to take lithium from the battery shell, which shreds the battery by rotating two uniform blades in opposite directions. The examination of the frame structure becomes an essential part of the design process because it is the primary support structure for all mechanical components. The shredder machine's frame can be composed of various materials, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. As a result, in order to determine the best material for the shredder battery machine, the frame structure must be analyzed using the finite element method. The finite element method is used to determine the strength of each material used to make the battery shredder machine frame using the energy distortion method (Von Mises) and Tresca failure criteria approach and analyze the maximum deformation value in the frame using the Abaqus CAE software. The force acting on the frame comes from the battery shredder machine and the electric motor as the prime mover. The simulation is done by varying the working force into three different types of loading. With several considerations that have been determined, the results obtained that the most suitable and safe frame to use is steel with a safety factor value close to 4 and a maximum deformation close to 1 mm
