Abstrak/Abstract Getasan Sub-District is the largest cayenne pepper production center in Semarang Regency. This study aims to determine the technical efficiency and factors that affect the technical efficiency of cayenne pepper farming. Conducted in Getasan Sub-District, Semarang Regency, the research sampled 45 farmers practicing cayenne pepper intercropping systems. The data were analyzed using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) with the assumption of Constant Return to Scale (CRS) and Variable Return to Scale (VRS) input approach and multiple linear regression analysis with Ordinary Least Square (OLS). The results of the analysis showed that under the assumption of CRS, 31.11% of farm businesses were efficient, while under the assumption of VRS, 53.33% of farm businesses were efficient. The average technical efficiency value of cayenne pepper CRS model is 0.753 while the average efficiency value of VRS model is 0.911. Significant factors positively affecting technical efficiency under CRS assumptions included farmer education, farming experience, number of family dependents, and organizational activeness in farmer groups. Recommendations include independent fertilizer production, input reductions in fertilizers, pesticides, and external labor, alongside farmer training through group activities.
