| Abstrak/Abstract | Operating room is one of sectors in a hospital which exerts a great impact on the hospital. This kind of facility may both cost a lot and earn a lot, therefore the hospital management should have an excellent operating room scheduling. This paper aimed to establish efficiency of operating room scheduling by minimizing patient waiting time, considering that it belongs to one of indicators for operating room efficiency. Cluster analysis applied to categorize all of the surgery activities according to data of surgical durations and types of surgery. All of the resulting clusters were plotted in order to determine the scheduling priority. The priority was determined by referring to the lowest scores of standard deviation of surgical activity duration. The results indicate that the determination of scheduling priority using cluster analysis enhanced operating room performance by decreasing the patient waiting time of 39.34%. |
