Abstrak/Abstract People living in Small Island have different characteristics with its parent island. Their life is unique and interesting to study, especially with regard to the pattern of circular mobility. This article aims to observe the pattern of circular mobility in people of Lease Islands in Ambon City. A case study method was employed to answer why and how they perform circular mobility. Depth interviews were conducted in three units, namely migrants coming from the Lease Islands, migrants who did not stay in Ambon City, migrants aged over 15 years. The results indicated that the circular migrants had a strong bond with their place of origin so that they prefer to stay in their place of origin. This bond takes the form of pattern of parenting, position of a person as the children of the country to preserve the inheritance, as well as family-related reasons, one of which is family visit underlying circular mobility. The period used to perform circular mobility is more than one day until one month.
