Herbal medicine has become part of Indonesia's culture and natural wealth and its products Basic Health Research shows that the use of herbal medicine by the community Indonesian more than 80%. Selopamioro village is known to have various species of medicinal plants but has not been used for community empowerment. Some of the most common species of medicinal plants include : Cymbopogon citratus (sereh), Orthosiphon aristatus (daun kumis kucing), Centella asiatica (pegagan), and Andrographis paniculata (sambiloto). The purpose of this activity is to increase the understanding of the Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Lestari Maju (Women Farmer Group) of Selopamioro village with the benefits of medicinal plants by optimizing the yard and producing herbal products based on medicinal plants.
The method of implementing the activities carried out is participatory citizen and partner envolvement for community empowerment based on herbal products. To ensure the successful development of herbal products, It is always necessary to develop product innovation technology health, institutional development, improving the quality of resources agriculture, improvement of the marketing system and the need for intervention government. One of the technologies that determine the success of product development herbs are the quality of product raw materials.
Members of the women's farmer group have succeeded in increasing their understanding of the benefits of medicinal plants and are able to produce herbal products in the form of instant herbal drinks and tea bags from Cymbopogon citratus, Orthosiphon aristatus, Centella asiatica, and Andrographis paniculata
