Abstrak/Abstract Genotoxicagent can interact wi th DNA, causing the onset of some degenerative diseases including cancer. Cinnamon essential oil (CEO) possesses antioxidant activity that essential toreduce the DNA damage. The purpose of this study is to investigate the antiproliferativeand antigenotoxiceffectof (CEO) on doxorubicin-induced CHO-K1 cellsgenotoxicity.The cytotoxic activity was carried out by using MTT assay, while the genotoxic activity was measured through Micronucleus Assay as the reduction of number micronuclei (MN) per 1000 cells. The result showed that IC50 value of CEO was 30 ?g/ml. CEO with concentration of 3?g/ml (1/10 IC50) reduced the percentage of micronuclei as much as 94,55 % on doxorubicin-induced CHO-K1 cellsgenotoxicity. Therefore, CEO is potential anti genotoxic agent. However it is necessary todevelopefuther research.
