Batik, originating from the Javanese word PATIKA – BATIKA, meaning “please write/paint any flora, fauna or environment”, uses a wax-resist dyeing process – color blocking & originally natural dye. In the year 2009, batik is inscribed as UNESCO Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity from Indonesia. Meanwhile from batik we can learn the transformation of floral and natural environment into batik pattern. It highlights the important of ecological learning. One of the mission on GBJ natural indigo batik is CONTRIBUTE TO THE ENVIRONMENTALY FRIENDLY LIFE – USE NATURAL DYE. Create and introduce Natural Indigo Batik from Yogyakarta, a distinctive shade of blue color produced by dyeing a natural blue through the fermentation process of Indigofera tinctoria leaves without adding any mixture of synthetic dye, no cars.
