Ashika Prajnya Paramita is a lecturer at the English Department, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Her research interests centre around superheroes, media culture, and representations of Otherness in popular culture. Her current project examines American comic book superheroes in the context of Donald Trump’s administration, with a particular focus on race, ethnicity, and Othering.
Ashika is a member of the Asian Media and Cultural Studies Network and a co-convenor of the Reading & Screening the Fantastique research group, both affiliated with Deakin University.
