Dr. Sylvia Utami Tunjung Pratiwi, S.Si, M.Si is a microbiologist. Her research focused on
understanding how microbes-microbes or microbes-host interact and communicate
between each other (quorum sensing), which is determine the ability to increase
their pathogenicity, i.e biofilm, antimicrobial resistance, and finding novel
compound(s) with antipathogenicity activity, or high activity against biofilm. She is a lecturer at the Department of Pharmaceutical Biology, Faculty of Pharmacy Gadjah Mada University. In this position she develops, coordinates and teaches various courses such as: Cell Biology and Microbiology, and Pharmacogsnosy. She is also the Liaison Officer of UGM-Faculty of Science Leiden University Joint Research Collaboration.

- Microbial
Interaction
- Antibiofilm and quorum sensing
